Wilkat Custom Bass Body: Alberto Penzin's "The Beast"

Inspired by the "Wes Watson" bass, this beauty was made for Alberto Penzin. Alberto loves his Steinberger basses but desired a custom version that would feature the body shape and pickups that he wanted. This amazing bass features a top made of Morado Rosewood, and back wing panels of butternut. Combined with the maple and rosewood center, the bass has a nice darkness to the tone, but still yields a punchy brightness when needed (thanks in part to the EMG BTC control).

Continued Simplicity and elegance:
The sheer loveliness of this bass does not overshadow the fact that it's got "killer" instinct once it's plugged in. Although somewhat heavier in weight due to the Morado Rosewood top, the active pickups and controls bite through to provide a heart thumping and pounding beat with as much clarity and presence as one desires.

Alberto selected EMG's active HBCS humbucking bass pickups and BTC concentric bass and treble control for his "Beast", and the marriage was perfect harmony (sorry I couldn't resist that pun). You can choose what ever type of pickups you prefer, and your bass body can be supplied pre-wired complete with pickups, or without, it's up to you!
