These pages are only meant
to provide INFORMATION.
They have NO
COMMERCIAL content or intent.
I do NOT represent
George Turner or his products.
I enjoy his models
& would like EVERYONE to be aware of his work.
I feel it is truely
REMARKABLE.

George Turner is a master model builder, who makes prototype & master models for mainstream commercial toy manufacturers. He has worked for Matchbox [Mattel], Lledo & Corgi. Most of his work now is for Corgi & Lledo. He is making all the prototypes for the Corgi planes & most of the Lledo Vanguards. As a side line he is beginning to produce limited edition aircraft & the odd car.
I first became aware of George in 1989 - I saw an ad in MODEL COLLECTOR [UK] magazine for his GT. MODEL PETITE model line. At that time, the line consisted of extremely fine, 1/64 resin models of vintage sports/race cars. These were available in kit or built form. They are, to say the least, 'wonderful'. I feel very fortunate to own several of these models. They are a constant source of pleasure and enjoyment to me.
The G.T.Model Petite line consisted of a variety of 'winning' sports/racing cars from the '50s, '60s, '70s & '80s.
GP cars:
NOTE: MODELS IN RED ARE KITS OR BUILTS THAT I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIND & PURCHASE - DATES ARE WHEN PURCHASED & WHERE.
There was a series of MINI COOPERS [ my personal favourite].
There was promise of some other 'sports cars'. I am NOT sure if these were ever produced - I have never seen any advertising for them or heard of anyone having any of them.
In the '90s George produced a replica of the Bill Thomas sports/racing car - the 'CHEETAH'. These were in 1/43 and available in kit or built form. The company was now - GTurner Models.
There are three versions:
There are a few of these models still available at THE CHEETAH website. Click on 'For Sale'. I do not believe the availability #'s are correct - I do believe there are very few of these great models left on the planet.
I have heard a rumor that there is a LIMITED EDITION 1/64 version of this model in the works.
These 1/64 models are shown
on the Official George Turner Models website.
If anyone has ANY of the GT. Model Petite series that they are willing to part with, I would definitely be interested. If anyone has pix or info that you think would be useful or interesting - I would like to hear from you.
