EPISTEMOLOGY:
Epistemology or theory of knowledge is the branch of Western
philosophy that studies the nature and scope of knowledge. The term "epistemology" is based on the Greek words "ἐπιστήμη or episteme" (knowledge) and "λόγος or logos (account/explanation); it is thought to have been coined by the Scottish philosopher James Frederick Ferrier"
 Definition taken from Wikipedia   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epistemology

"Since epistemology is the theory of knowledge, a central question of the area is: Under what conditions does a subject know something to be the case?"

PROLOGUE

 Darkness gives way to light
when the dawn dissolves the night
 Ignorance wanes as knowledge grows
yet, we are left to presuppose
questions of truth beyond our grasp
we reach out and try to clasp
but our tools, merely sticks and stones
Inter our wisdom with our bones
Everything’s a function of time and place
 And distances across empty space
The universe is all, and nothing too, drifting in and out of view.
The universe is all, and nothing too, drifting in and out of view.
