SUPER THERM  is a combination of high performance acrylic resins in water, which contain no co-solvents and will dry by evaporation. based formula.  SUPER THERM cures out completely in one week to an extremely tough, durable, non-yellowing, water resistant coating that also provides flexibility and ultra-violet stability. SUPER THERM was built to meet the requirements of industrial uses which required a tough surface not found in any flexible coating on the market today, and provide flexibility against the stresses of contraction and expansion.  SUPER THERM is designed with four separate ceramics - two are reflective, one is an infrared blocker, and the other acts as a dead air space between the coating surface and the substrate. This allows SUPER THERM to be an actual insulating coating not just a reflective coating. The urethane resin acts to bind all the other resins and ceramics together and provides a vapor barrier in the dry film similar to the paper backing on batt insulation. SUPER THERM has three reflective ceramics to reflect sunlight and radiant heat while the forth ceramic compound works to stop heat an/or cold conduction through the coating film. The combination of the acrylics provide elasticity and toughness with the urethane providing the binding for the acrylics and compounds while also providing a moisture barrier.

APPLICATION:
Always power wash substrate using a minimum of 3,000 psi power washer to clean dirt, oils, etc. Use washing powders in washing system, and rinse well. Apply only above 40 degrees F. and below 110 degrees F.

  • Spreads at 100 sq.ft./gallon on all surfaces, horizontal or vertical using "cross-hatch" method (up-and-down, side-to-side).
  • All filters must be removed from spray equipment to prevent sifting of ceramic particles. Apply using a 028-.032 tip for spraying or 3/4 inch nap roller.
  • For new galvanized metal/slick metal surfaces, stainless steel and aluminum or weathered metal surfaces (5-10 years old) that is not showing rust, apply RUST GRIP at 300 sq.ft./gallon as a primer, then SUPER THERM at 100 sq.ft./gallon.
  • If rust is present or suspected, prime with RUST GRIP at 200 sq.ft./gallon
  • Concrete walls: If painted before, be sure all loose or flaking paint is off first, then apply SUPER THERM. If not painted before, seal concrete first by using SUPER BASE (HS) at 100 sq.ft./gallon (ask about roofing applications).
  • Tar/Asphalt or Rubber surfaces - seal first with SUPER BASE (HS) at 30-50 sq.ft./gallon then apply SUPER THERM. Tar and asphalt will bleed oil residues into the coating turning it brown interfering with the insulation ability of SUPER THERM if not sealed first. SUPER BASE (HS) is water-based and therefore will not harm the tar/asphalt but will fill and seal all cracks, leaving a sealing film over it that remains extremely flexible.

USES (Partial List)

  • Insulating storage tanks (water, chemical, fuel)
  • Roofing new and old, flat, inclined, metal, concrete
  • Ceilings and interior walls to significantly reduce heat migration
  • Floors (in-floor heating under tubing)
  • Cold storage (freezers, reefer units)
  • Ice arenas, indoor swimming pools
  • Boilers and hot pipes

Super Therm Rated #1 in Blocking Heat Flow

Does SUPER THERM have an R-value? What do insulation materials do and what are they designed to do? Stop BTU heat conduction.

SUPER THERM is tested to compare BTU conduction. An uncoated metal plate allows 367.20 BTUs to conduct, whereas one coat of SUPER THERM at 8/1000 thickness over the same plate allowed only 3.99 BTUs to conduct. This is a 99% reduction.

Independent Labs have qualified this coating to have an R- and RE-value of 19. Sony Corporation self-tested on their plant and reduced KU usage by 78% (KU x cost/Ku - dollars saved in energy costs)

ASTM TESTING: G53, E96, D522, D412, E84-89,  E119, C-177, C-411, C-236, E1269, E1461-92, D1654, D3274

  • VOC - compliant only 67 grams/liter. Limit is 420 grams.
  • Water-based
  • USDA approved for use in and around food preparation
  • Mildew and mold resistant

  • Can withstand moisture (not for under water use)
  • Has been fire tested with "0" flame and smoke results, giving it a class A rating for fire resistance
  • Built with a combination of two acrylics and one urethane which makes it flexible, yet tough.
  • It has four different types of ceramics built in to give not only reflective abilities, but also non-conductivity for heat and cold.
  • Will dry to touch in 45 minutes to 1 hour, recoat in 1 hour. Completely cured in 7-10 days.
  • Blocks sound : Test #1 - Application to interior walls blocks 68% of sound waves coming from outside. Test #2 - Application to exterior roof of trailer recorded a decibel drop of 68%.
  • Can withstand acid rain, chemical vapors and direct mild acid splash
