The North Okanagan Bluegrass Society Welcomes You! We are conveniently located near downtown Vernon, BC. We host a bluegrass jam twice a month at the Vernon Arts Council Building, located in Polson Park. Our jams are held on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of each month, from 7-10 pm. There is a $3.00 drop-in fee. The first half of the jam is a slower learning session, with society members providing the music and leading the songs. The second half is an open-circle jam, with everyone having the opportunity to lead a song or two if they would like. This provides a safe and enjoyable place to develop your Bluegrass interests and talents, and to play with other people. In addition to our jams, we host an open-mic style Coffee House on the 3rd Saturday of each month, at the Coldstream Women's Institute Hall, 9909 Kalamalka Road. Our band, Wood N Strings, starts the night off and we usually have a feature just after the break. For details, please see our Events page. Hope to see you soon! |
