Steppin' Out with Keith & Holly

Welcome to the website of Keith & Holly Foraie. Our website includes information about our dance classes, dances & workshops among other dance related topics.

We are dancers, dance instructors and event organizers. Our dance company is 'Steppin Out' and justly so because that is exactly what we love to do. We are located in the beautiful Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

We promote 'Social Dance' and love to share our experience, enjoyment and love for dance. We specialize in West Coast Swing, Night Club 2-Step, New York Hustle, and Country Two-Step but also teach some of our other favorites such as Cha Cha, Waltz, East Coast Swing and more. We offer group, semi-private & private lessons for all ages and levels, beginner to advanced.

'Dance Town Saturday Night' is our monthly dance in Courtenay offering a great venue for local dancers and a one hour lesson for all dance levels prior to the dance. We also host full or half day workshops at Dance Town and larger dance venues such as 'Dance de Rock' and 'New Year's Eve Celebration'.

West Coast Swing is our favorite dance because of it's versatility. This style of dance evolves and changes mostly due to the ever changing music. We constantly up-grade and learn from pro's such as Jordon Frisbee & Tatiana Mollman, Robert & Nicola Royston, Kyle Redd & Sarah Van Drake, Parker Dearborn, Jessica Cox, Arjay Centeno, Jim Minty, Mario Rabou, Melissa Rutz, Gary Mcintyre, Michael Kielbasa, Jennifer Deluca, Ian Kirkconnell,

Keith & Holly have been dancing and teaching together since March 1998 but separately have a much longer history in the dance scene.

Keith started dancing in 1989 in Edmonton, Alberta and has instructed for 20 of those 24 years. He competed in dance competitions in Canada, Washington and Oregon States until a near fatal accident took him away from dance scene for four years.

Holly started dancing in 1990 & teaching in 1992 in Campbell River and was involved with the Starlite Western Dancers, a local dance club. As a club member she was very active promoting, organizing dances, workshops and taking on director, president and newsletter editor positions. On her own she organized and taught her own dance classes in line dance and couples dances for 8 years prior to meeting Keith.

Keith & Holly met in 1998 when Holly hired Keith to instruct at her classes. So, fifteen years later , a lot of miles across the country and a lot of miles on the dance floor, Keith & Holly are still dancing, teaching and loving it.
