General information about the schedule
Each year, the Festival opens Friday at 7:00 pm for registration, while the band is playing, and while people are greeting one another.
At 7:30 pm, Rosemarie leads the official greetings, and introduces the guest instructors and musicians, and the dance classes begin.
Saturday is a full day of dance classes, followed by an ethnic feast, dance performances, and dance party -- please wear your ethnic costumes this evening.
Sunday is another full day of dance instruction and review.
The festival concludes Sunday mid-afternoon.
Most years, there is a special "pre-festival" program, a lecture by one of the dance teachers, or a special-interest dance class.
Traditionally, either on the days before or after the weekend of festivities, there is a school-children's program, where our dance instructors share their joy of dance with the young people of Salt Spring Island.
