Live music lends an intimacy and elegance to almost any event. As an active chamber musician, I am able to coordinate an ensemble of almost any combination of instruments, given fair warning. I have experience in everything from weddings to Bar Mitzvahs, garden parties to graduation ceremonies, and of course, any concert situation. The ensembles listed below are the ones that I play with most regularly, and have the most familiarity with, but please do not hesitate to request another combination of instruments if you have something particular in mind. Flute and Harp: I have been playing with harpist Lani Krantz for the past 6 years. We have vast experience playing in all sorts of situations together, and are extremely flexible in providing the appropriate musical background to any event. The flute and harp is a beautiful combination, both in sound and aesthetics. Lani and I have also played as a trio with vioin, viola or cello. Flute, Violin and Cello:This is a trio which has been established in the Vancouver area for about 8 years. I have been playing with them for the past 2 years. This trio is a lovely combination when you want something slightly smaller than the traditional string quartet, and with a slightly different sound. Wind instruments always improve any musical ensemble! With a huge repertoire, you will have no trouble finding exactly the music you want from this trio.
Flute and Guitar: Folk/blues/jazz guitarist and songwriter Jason Cummings is a longtime friend of mine, and I have played with him in various situations over the years. The style with this ensemble is less classical and more improvisatory. We have also on occasion brought in hand drum players to join us! |
