This program model, a Prototype for An Anti-Bullying Boys Program, was designed for a mid-sized urban area to curb bullying at schools. The proposal was developed and paid for by a Youth Society sponsored by the city. The model offers a number of possibilities, and is designed to appeal to adolescents and young teens. Essentially, the model is predicated on helping boys explore their emotions and appropriate ways to handle them through developing empathy with, or helping others. Pragmatic in design, the model addresses how a program attracts youth, builds credibility with diverse and even oppositional interest groups, and how to evaluate the program. Although there are several possible venues that might be used to establish this program, the model lends itself to a myriad of possible applications.
