Sundance Elementary walks for Elijah Cheney and The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in

"THE WALK FOR THE CURE"
Sundance Elementary School and The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, in honor of Elijah Cheney, invite all of Victoria and Vancouver Island to join them in the 2nd Annual "Walk For The Cure".
On April 20, 2002 we will walk in the area of Sundance Elementary School, near Oak Bay Village, to raise awareness and money for the JDRF.

We will begin in the Sundance auditorium at 12:00 PM, Saturday April 20th, for Veggie Dogs and Juice. We will hear important information regarding Jv. Diabetes, such as how to identify early signs and ways to keep it under control after it has been diagnosed. At 1:00 PM we will take a short walk (Rain or shine). At 2:00 PM we will meet back at Sundance auditorium for 40 minutes of fun, fun, fun dancing to the uplifting songs from Solstix Marimba Ensemble.

Elijah Cheney (April 22, 1994 - September 18, 2000) died very unexpectedly of Juvenile Diabetes. He was perfectly fine on a Friday afternoon and by the following Tuesday he had fallen into a comma and passed. This of course was (and still is devastating) for the family. Not having any knowledge of what signs to look for, there was no way of knowing Elijah's fate.

Please join Elijah's family and the JDRF in helping raise awareness of JUVENILE DIABETES. All proceeds raised go to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to raise awareness of Juvenile Diabetes.
