Team Profile

Welcome to the Calgary Sirens Women's Hockey team website.  The Sirens were created in 2004.  The name Sirens comes from Greek mythology.  A siren is one of three sea nymphs, usually represented with the head of a woman and the body of a bird. The Sirens inhabited an island surrounded by dangerous rocks. They sang so enchantingly that all who heard were drawn near and shipwrecked.

The team is made up mainly of players who played CIS, ACAC and juniors.  We play in the Southern Alberta Women's Hockey Association (SAWHA) and we play our home games at Cardel Place on Wednesday night at 9:15 pm.  Come check us out.

We have a great mix of skill and talent and an awesome attitude.  In our inaugural season we won tier 3 in SAWHA.  A remarkable feat and we only lost two games in our tier as well.  Our second season we attended provincials and finished in fourth place.

Currently, we are playing in tier 1 in SAWHA.  The competition is fierce and we are ready for the challenge.
