I decided to try to build a layout that will be strong, light and disassembled quickly. I also wanted to stay away from using power tools as much as possible. The base material is 1" foamboard with a cut-out for the sliding shelf work area and another 1" layer on top. Additional support is provided by 1"x3" strips of foamboard on the underside. The foamboard is exceptionally easy to work with using basic cutting tools - I used a coping saw and a utility knife. Pieces must be glued together with a product such as Liquid Nails or other foamboard adhesive. |

The next step was a wall shelf for all of the stuff we seem to accumulate. I went with a shelf that approximated the dimensions of the layout using 3/4 in. plywood cut from a 24"x96" in. cutting from my local lumberyard. I now have a place to store my Knockout and Shoebox micros. |
