Professional Credentials

Background

I obtained my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. The Wright Institute is a school fully accredited by the American Psychological Association that emphasises a psychodynamic approach to psychotherapy while integrating cognitive and behavioural practices and techniques.

I have worked in several community mental health clinics with individuals of diverse racial, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds and sexual orientations. I completed an internship at the University of California at Davis and a Post-Doctorate Fellowship in college mental health at Stanford University.

In addition to my psychotherapy and counselling practice, I offer educational presentations and training seminars and conduct research. I was on staff at the Counselling Services of the University of Victoria from 1999 to March 2006 where I provided psychological services to students and employees including individual, couple and group therapy, as well as supervision to graduate students.
