| Abby came to our home at 8 weeks as a little
bundle of energy and was our first rottweiler. She gave us the love
for the rottweiler breed.
Abby's two favorite toys in the world were
her ball and the sleeve. She retired from schutzhund
in the summer of 2002 as she came up lame. We thought she had injured
her leg. We later found the problem was due to bone cancer.
Abby knew many tricks and loved to show off.
Her favorite tricks were to "walk like a bear" on her back legs, roll over
and to wave "goodbye" when leaving. She was a wonderful ambassador
for the rottweiler breed and is already missed.
In 1998, The Greater Victoria Dog Club awarded
Abby the "Mary Bates Trophy" which is a club trophy for the dog which achieves
the highest score under a novice handler. Abby was High In Trial
when she trialed for her CD.
In 1999, Abby earned the titles BH and AD
under ADRK Judge Martin Hillgeman. In May 2002 Abby made her
entrance into the show ring and placed V-3 in the veteran's class at the
2002 Canadian WCL Sieger Show held in Vancouver, BC.
Abby would have made a great schutzhund dog,
however, she did not start training in schutzhund until she was 5 years
old. |
