About Us

Daynna Major has had a lifelong passion and involvement with animals.  Since childhood, her guardianship experiences have covered all varieties of family animal companions. Many of the animals that have shared her life have required special care.

Along with being involved for 15 years with all aspects of U.S. racing Greyhound rescue, past commitments also include two years of hospital visitations with her Greyhound, Ribbons, via BC Pets and Friends.  As a former pet trained disaster emergency volunteer, she was fortunate enough to be invited to respond to aid with animal evacuation and care during the forest fires at Lillooet, BC in the summer of 2004.

Her background also encompasses working for both small business and national corporations in the areas of finance, healthcare and telecommunications.  While looking for a change of pace and lifestyle, in which she could involve her love of animals, she found that animal massage was the perfect answer.

She has attended TRAINING in both Canada and the U.S. for animal reflexology, large and small animal massage, Therapeutic Touch and other forms of energy work.  She has attained the titles of Small Animal Massage Practitioner, Large Animal Massage Practitioner,  Therapeutic Touch Practitioner and Chair Massage Practitioner.

Daynna has also completed advanced studies in animal performance (sports) massage.

She is one of the founding members and first President of  the British Columbia Association of Animal Massage & Bodywork Professionals.  “It is only through forming an official body and working together as a group, that all Animal Massage Practitioners, Therapists and Bodyworkers will advance to  become professionally recognized and valued for the extensive knowledge and expertise they contribute to animal well-being.”

Ribbons & Hounds Run has served clients in the Lower Mainland since January, 2005.

Olive

Confident and self-assured, “demo-bunny” Olive may be seen with us at smaller events.  She is a mature Mini-Rex.  The Mini-Rex rabbit is known for its velvety-soft fur.  Olive gets her name due to the big white “O” that you can see on her chest.

In her spare time she loves sun-basking on top of her hay pile and loves eating dinner from her favorite red dish.  She also enjoys listening to country music.
