New Version of Windows Coming Soon |
|
Microsoft is expected to release Window 8 sometime this fall, and initial reviews say that it looks more like a smartphone
operating system. It can sync the settings for applications across multiple computers. It has a quicker startup and shut-down process, and it
allows easy connection to social media and Web services within apps. |

Sales of Windows 7 Slowing |
|
According to NetMarketShare the numbers of PCs running Windows 7 is approaching the number
of PCs running Windows XP; however, the 2011 sales of Windows 7 were slightly less than those sold in 2010, which may be a result of an
increase in non-PC computing devices such as tablets and smartphones. Windows 7 includes a few new features, like touch screen compatibility,
and upgrading from Vista to Windows 7 is not as difficult as it was from XP to Vista. |
|
Sales of Windows XP Have Still Not Come To An End |
|
Officially Microsoft is not selling Windows XP; however, the supply has not dissapeared from all the store shelves.
Microsoft has committed to provide support for XP through to 2014. |
