Colour Art
These are pieces that I have done over the last 20 years or so.   I'm afraid that in the process of moves and in selling art I have lost some of my better pieces.   It's a shame that at the time I had no way of saving the images for later use on the 'puter.

The images shown are thumbnails since this allows for faster loading of the site.   If you wish to see a larger view, double click on the image of your choice.

"COLLAGE".    Although this looks like images cut out and pasted down, it is an actual painting.   Done entirely in gouache and brush.

"FRAGRANCE".    This is mostly air brush and inks, though I also used gouache and coloured pencils as well.

"STUDY OF A SHINY OBJECT".    This is entirely airbrush and inks.    Some hand brushwork was done for texture effects.

"FEVERDREAMS".    This is a good example of a doodle gone mad.    I started with just the face and kept adding things a bit at I time whenever I looked at the drawing.    I think I was on drugs at the time.    Done with coloured pencils with just a touch of airbrush.

"SNOWBOARD AIR".    Just for fun.    This is a water colour painting with a touch of airbrush.    I used to hate water colours because it was such an unforgiving medium.    It isn't when you buy high quality water colour board.

"FROGMAN".    Don't ask me what I was high on at the time.    This is also done in water colours but on very poor quality paper.

The following four images are covers done for the Transalta Newsletter magazine which comes out quarterly.    These were all done using indelible felt designer markers (the Letraset Pantone variety) and an unusual product called "Letrajet" which allows you to actually spray the ink directly off the felt marker.    Details are added later by hand.

"SPRING"

"SUMMER"

"FALL"

"WINTER"

These two images were a proposal for a promotional product for a Shaw Cable contest.    The project went ahead on the strength of the art, but I never saw any of the actual stuffed bears.    "Director Bear" has been kept in a protected environment while "Superbears" was framed and hung....in direct sunlight in fact.    The fading is painfully obvious.
