	PARROTS Endangered & Tropical Birds Vancouver Island is home to the World Parrot Refuge, which is a world class facility that educates the public and cares for abandoned, abused or ill birds. Since some parrots out live their owner, this is also a home for life of the bird. Large flight cages and expert care make this a true sanctuary. One third of all parrots are endangered in the wild.
