FALSE DOCTRINE |

|
|
|
| The most deceptive of the
False catholic Doctrines is the Doctrine of Original Sin and Infant Baptism.
Invented to soothe the minds of parents whose children died before becoming
Christians. Truth: The Bible declares that all people become sinners the moment they "choose" to sin against God. And that a person has to be old enough to know God's Covenant in order to pledge a good conscience toward Him and be Baptized INTO Christ. |

Mary, or to dead saints. Truth: The Bible teaches that Jesus is our only mediator. |
600 A.D. |
| The Papacy is of
pagan origin. The title of pope or universal bishop was first given
to the bishop of Rome by the wicked emperor Phocas. This he did to spite Bishop Ciriacus of Constantinople, who had justly excommunicated him for his having caused the assassination of his predecessor emperor Mauritius. Gregory 1, the bishop of Rome, refused the title but his successor, Boniface III, first assumed the title "pope." Truth: Jesus did NOT appoint Peter to the head of the apostles and Jesus condemns any such notion. Jesus is the HEAD of the church. Colossians 1:18 |
610 A.D. |
| The kissing
of the Pope's feet. Kissing the feet of emperors was a pagan custom. Truth: The Word of God forbids such practices. (Acts 10:25; Rev. 19:10; 22:9). |
709 A.D. |
| The Temporal power of the
Popes. When Pepin, the usurper of the throne of France, descended into Italy,
called by Pope Stephen II, to war against the Italian Lombards, he defeated
them and gave the city of Rome and surrounding territory to the pope. Truth: Jesus expressly forbade such a thing, and He himself refused worldly kingship. (Read Matt. 4:8-9; 20:25-26; John 18:38). |
750 A.D. |
| Worship of the cross,
images and relics. This was authorized by order of Dowager Empress Irene of Constantinople, who first
caused to pluck the eyes of her own son, Constantine VI, and then called a
church council at the request of Hadrian I, pope of Rome at that time. Truth: Such practice is called simply IDOLATRY in the Bible, and is severely condemned. (Ex. 20:4; 3:17; Deut. 27:15; Psalm 115). |

during Lent. Imposed by popes said to be interested in the commerce of fish. Truth: This doctrine is totally against the plain teaching of the Bible. Matthew 15:10 ICorinthians 10:25 ITimothy 4:1. |
998 A.D. |
| Celibacy of
priests decreed by Pope Hildebrand, Boniface VII. Truth: Jesus imposed no such rule, nor did any of the apostles. On the contrary, St. Peter was a married man, and St. Paul says that Elders are to have a wife and children. ITimothy 3:2,5, and 12 Matt. 8:14 |
1079 A.D. |
| The Rosary, or prayer
beads was introduced by Peter the Hermit, in the year 1090. Copied
from Hindus and Mohammedans. Truth: The counting of prayers is a pagan practice and is expressly condemned by Christ. Matthew 6:5 |

| The Inquisition
of heretics instituted by the Council of Verona. Truth: Jesus never taught the use of force to spread His truth. |
1184 A.D. |
| The sale of Indulgences,
commonly regarded as a purchase of forgiveness and a permit to indulge in
sin. Truth: Christianity condemns such a traffic and it was the protest against this traffic that brought on the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century. |
1190 A.D. |
|
Transubstantiation was decreed by Pope Innocent III.
By this doctrine the priest pretends to perform a daily miracle by changing
a wafer into the body of Christ, and then he pretends to eat Him alive in
the presence of his people during Mass. Truth: The Bible condemns such absurdities; for the Lord's Supper is simply a memorial of the sacrifice of Christ. Luke 22:19 John 6:35 ICorinthians 11:26 |
1215 A.D. |
| Confession of sin to the
priest at least once a year was instituted by Pope Innocent III in the

1439 A.D. |
| The doctrine of 7
Sacraments. Truth: No such thing as sacraments in the Bible. |

it to be of equal authority with the
Scriptures. Tradition includes fallible human teachings.
Truth: Jesus condemns holding man made teachings over the Word of God. |

CONCLUSION
The catholic church says it never changes, yet it continues to do so as it also continues to invent new doctrines which are contrary to God's Word.
Heresies are doctrines and practices that are contrary to the Bible. They are also called "human traditions" or "doctrines of men". Both Peter and Paul prophesied and warned that in the later times "false teachers" would rise within the church and bring in "damnable heresies" and "doctrines of devils". (2Peter 2:1 and ITimothy 3:2)
1Timothy 1:3
As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach False Doctrines any longer
Galatians 1:8
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned.
Go tell your friends and save them years of Bible Study.
