First Generation - John and Marie McDonald

"John McDonald Sr., who was born in Scotland, lived elsewhere in Prince Edward Island (some claim West Point) before he settled in Lot 9. He was accompanied to Brae by his wife, also sons and daughters: John, James, Archibald, Hannah and others - all believed to have been born on Prince Edward Island."

"John McDonald Jr. (son of John mentioned above) took up land in Brae and married Catherine Stewart of West Point. They had two sons. John was lost at sea and his sons were brought up at the home of their McDonald grandparents in lower Brae".
