Final update March 14th
I've moved my site to http://ksjoseywales.nodecam.com/index.php go there for all the newest recordings and info. Last updated March 8th Well I haven't solved my server problems yet however my brother says that he is willing to host my site and has suggested I not get an outside party to host it for me. So much as I appreciate the seeming willingness from the good people at PAoM I think I'll try to go it alone for a while longer. On to more interesting news I added another Game to the clinic, I know I promised to put it up sooner but I just didn't have the time to figure out what I was going to do for space. So for space at the moment I'm just using an alternate site to upload to which really shouldn't affect things for you guys at all. As well I've added a few more emails. On the recorded games front I've started to play random god again in rated as of yesterday, we'll see how long it lasts this time. As a consequence there are new recorded games to be found under loki, odin, thor, zeus, hades, and set, hope you enjoy them. Nothing really to spectacular so I'm not going to spotlight anything. March 3rd First off my new host is smaller than I had expected, yet again I've run out of room, however I did want to update the site, so as a consequence I deleted all my 3v3 games, they are all in a safe place, so as soon as a solution is found I'll be able to put them up again. In the meantime if anyone really wants them I'll put them up on my old site, otherwise I'll just leave them, so if you did want 1 in particular let me know which game you want and I'll upload it and send you the link in an email. I'm trying to get hosted by PAOM soon to hopefully fix these problems, but in the meantime I won't be able to do much on this site and will likely set up something temporary elsewhere. On to the rest of it :D. Well I did my first recorded game clinic on a game sent to me by Playboys_CN, I plan on finishing the other one that I am working on probably by 2 days from now, but please bear with me. I got a lot of really good questions, so decided to post a couple of the ones that I thought would likely help a few people out. Please keep in mind that both of these are somewhat new to me, and if you could please give me some time to iron out the wrinkles I'm sure the service will only get better. For those of you who saw my first rendition of this site (only lasted a very short while) you'll remember how very rough that was, well this is likely to be the same type of thing, it's not perfect to start with, but hopefully given a bit of time I'll become better at it. You can find the new sections listed under Clinic, and Emails. For those of you whose games I didn't review I've still got the games on file and will get to them as I can, I'm only 1 person however so don't feel disappointed if I don't review your game. As well keep those Emails and recorded games coming in. Enough about those new features In the past week I played a lot of games with some of the french crowd out there (namely Ikya) and for the most part they seemed like pretty good guys, now if only I could understand a word that they were typing out to me :D. I played a fair amount of games as zeus last week, many of them were quite bad, and a lot of team games with thor, as well there is 1 new game under Hades, hope you guys enjoy them. Nothing else really to tell you except as always feedback is appreciated, my email as always is ksjoseywales@shaw.ca. So any tips/suggestions for the site would be great. Spotlights for the week. Game 30 Thor, stopping the Loki rush. 1v1 vs. Hccc_Ann as loki on watering hole. IMO the only real chance that thor/odin have against a loki rush of any sort, worth a look I think. Game 36 2v2 Myself and Storm_Eh vs. RCF_Destruct and VNI_Salska. pretty good game I felt overall, they did some really good teamwork early on, deffinitely worth watching. As for the dwarven gold mine placement I think i'll stick with putting it by my tc from now on as it made dropping off wood a bit worse. February 27th New Features!!!!!!! First off since people have been emailing me with questions on a regular basis, I decided that I will post one email with my response every week. As well I am now opening up my new recorded game clinic section. So here's how it will work. You send me your recorded games with an appropriate title, and your highest rating. Inside the email talk a little bit about what specifically you need help with. Every week I will select one recorded game to watch and review, I'll make some fairly detailed notes to try and help you improve your game to the best of my ability. So start sending those questions and recorded games to ksjoseywales@shaw.ca February 25th One thing before I get on into the news, the ironic thing is that most of you won't see this until it's too late due to the nature of the problem. To see if I've actually updated my site you will likely have to refresh the site upon entering it, something to do with my host I'd assume, I got a lot of people asking if I was every going to update my site, turns out the problem was that their browser just wasn't refreshing it for them. Pretty useless to say since the people with the problem won't be able to read this hehe. Well the Heroics for the Holidays tournament over at MFO is over finally, unfortunately I only recorded 1 win and 3 losses. Funny thing about it is that those losses represent approximately half of my losses over the past week, pretty funny really. Anyways I did manage to make 400$ american which isn't half bad at all for a video game I figure. In other news I've started to use Odin again, I'm trying to figure out if raiding cav are overpowered vs. non norse civs, so far the conclusion would have to be yes they are overpowered. Their stats may not be overwhelming, but when you figure in their price, pop cost (only 2 pop cav in the game), and their extreme speed they really do become a force to be reconned with in any given game. I'm hoping that ES will either slow them down or take off 5% Hack Armour as I feel that this would likely alleviate the problem. As well you'll find a couple of games in hades, zeus, and thor but nothing significant. As well I managed to get my KS_Josey_Wales name up to rank 18 for a brief time in the past week, quite an accomplishment for me, however I ended up playing a loki player the next game and lost not only my ranking but dipped bellow the 2000 mark due to the fact he was rated much lower than me, that's a good thing anyways as I'm likely to start using my Morning_Storm name again right away and I'd hate to park a name in the top 20 and leave it there (although I'm sure it would drop out soon on it's own). Spotlight games for the week Game 7 Odin 1v1 vs. Miss_Only_Odin on Medit. A deffinite case of land economy beings supperior over water economy if you play things right. and make a devestating attack fast enough. Game 4 Odin 1v1 vs. Champ_ as set on Ghost lake. Very close back and forth game, some good map control on his part at times. Well so far I've played only 2 games in the heroics tournament and managed to lose both very convincingly. Still trying to get the other 3 games in, but the only person responding in the least is Kasa, who knows where grunt and mozory are. You'll find 2 games under isis this time, 1 under zeus, a bunch under thor and a few under Hades, I've decided to stop playing Hades for the time being as the game is really unballanced on water maps against greek players. I may start using Odin again in the near future but who knows. I lost a couple of my recorded games that I had planned on posting and unfortunately have no clue, I must have deleted them by accident at some point when I was getting rid of MFO rec games, sorry about that but not much I can do now. Spotlight games Game 2 Isis pretty good game I think. Game 15 Hades 1v1 vs.MS_Tec aka Bodygaurd, it's a Hades war. Very good game, very close with lots of fighting, and some good map control on his part, definitly worth a watch. Welcome to my new and ummmm somewhat improved website. Improved for me mostly as it's now a lot easier for me to update it, I'm still trying to figure out if I can get rid of having to zip up every game, but have patience as I'm not so great with this sort of thing. Anyways yet again sorry for the extremely long wait between updates but the last 2 weeks have been rather busy for me and I didn't have time to update the old fashioned way :). So now hopefullly this will make things easy enough that I can update my recorded games on a more regular basis, but again we'll see. Hopefully the site won't be going down anymore as this host allows more bandwidth than crappy geocities did. As a result of this move as well I don't have links to any of my older games on this page directly anymore as that would take me too much work to be worth it, so I've put in a link to my archives which are still located at geocities. In the past couple of weeks all I have played is Thor and Hades so look there for all my games, there aren't a great deal of them however. Spotlights for the week Game 10 Hades 2v2 another inter-storm game, myself and sheeplover vs. waters and vengence. Excellent excellent game, pretty long with lots of good fighting, I'd say this one is deffinitly worth a watch. Game 2 Hades 1v1 vs. Great_Isis pretty decent back and forth game, he let me get away with a lot though in the fact that I could base my army around 1 unit fairly effectively.
