Registration New Students Thank you for your interest in taking music lessons at the Jean Lyons School of Music, the longest established music school in Vancouver!  Our goal is to ensure that our students have a positive musical experience and that music will become an important part of their lives. We aim to match each student with the most appropriate instructor for their goals and interests, and try to schedule students with a convenient weekly lesson time, taking into account families who may be enrolling more than one family member. Returning Students

Pre-registration for the upcoming school year takes place during the month of May.

Lesson Schedules

Tuition is based on three terms throughout the school year. Term fees will be based on the actual number of lessons to be given by the teacher. All lessons must be taken at the student’s regularly scheduled time.

Term 1 (Fall): September to December
Term 2 (Winter): January to March
Term 3 (Spring): April to June

Payment Options

Full payment is due at the beginning of each term, but may include one post-dated cheque, dated the 15th of the following month.
NSF Cheques - A $20.00 service charge will be charged for each NSF / returned cheque.  

Missed Lessons Policy

The School is under no obligation to provide refunds, credits or make up lessons except in the case of prolonged illness.  Lessons missed by the teacher will be re-scheduled or a substitute will be provided. Any and all exceptions are to be discussed with teachers on an individual basis.

Withdrawal Policy

One month’s notice is required for termination of lessons at any given time during the year.
