How clean was our environment 60 years ago? How badly polluted has our environment become in the last 20 years? The air we breathe, the water we drink and even the foods we eat. Our society has become dependant on the convenience of fast foods and processed packaged foods. You may or may not have poor eating habits but your mind is sluggish, your body feels uncomfortable and your energy levels are close to zero. It's time for a body detox. Body detoxing is not about deprivation and starvation. A safe body detox involves well balanced meals, no fasting, no restrictions, just good wholesome foods. Detoxing is looking after yourself, giving yourself a better body and a clearer mind. Allow your body time just 21 days to reprogram itself for a new you.

Four popular types of colonic cleansing are colon hydrotherapy or colonic irrigation, enemas, herbal supplements and laxatives. Some believe that colonic cleansing will remove mucoid plaque and intestinal parasites. Intestinal parasites can infect anybody. Symptoms of intestinal parasites include coughing, cramping abdominal pain, bloating, gas and diarrhea. Some parasites also cause low red blood count causing anemia. Seek medical attention if you are experiencing any of these symptoms.

Consult your doctor/naturopath before undertaking any diet or detox program, especially if you are taking any type of medication or have any medical problems. Do not detox when pregnant, breastfeeding, menstruating or with a cold or infection.

Eating Healthy

When the body is too acidic as a result of acid and mucus forming foods, high fat, and toxic food residues, disease and infections proliferate. Most foods are alkaline by nature, once food is manufactured and processed they become acidic. The balance to attain in each meal is 75% alkaline to 25% acidic to maintain health. How our body digests food and how long does it take. In a nutshell it breaks down food, absorptions nutrients then elminates waste, unfortunately the whole process can take up to 24 hours. That's why eating the wrong foods cause weight gain. Eat a mixture of fruits in the morning and detox soup with salad in the afternoons, finish with a balanced dinner of a small salad, vegetables and protien. Eat when you're hungry by having more fruit in the mornings, another bowl of soup or portion of salad in the afternoons. To curb the evening hunger pains have an apple. Eating smaller proportions and eating more frequently will speed up your metabolism. Following the above regime and 'drinking lots of water' will help to maintain your weight afterwards.
