List of Articles by D.H.Th. Vollenhoven Vollenhoven was Dooyeweerd's brother-in-law. Reformational philosophy has often assumed that they shared the same philosophy. They did not. They disagreed on almost every key point, including how Scripture should be used in relation to philosophy. I have discussed a large number of these differences; see Vollenhoven. The following three articles are all important in that they show the differences between Vollenhoven and Dooyeweerd, from Vollenhoven's own perspective. The following articles by Vollenhoven are important in showing the differences between the thought of Vollenhoven and his brother-in-law Dooyeweerd. 1. Problemen rondom de tijd [Problems about time] For clarity, the three articles should be read in the order that I have listed them. The original Dutch version of the articles were published by A. Tol and K.A. Bril: Vollenhoven als Wijsgeer (Amsterdam: Buijten & Schipperheijn, 1992), 160-198. Tol and Bril were the ones who edited the lectures. This is particularly important for "Problemen rondom de tijd," which is very fragmentary. Tol and Bril have completed it by including notes taken by J.C. Vander Stelt, a student at the time. For those who can read Dutch, there are some very important notes that Tol and Bril have included by way of introduction, and in footnotes to the text. The Stichting voor Reformatorische Wijsbegeerte has placed online a copy of the Dutch version of the article and lectures. I have provided the web address for each article in the endnotes.
