Wilhelm von der Kammer

The history of Wilhelm and Frieda von der Kammer. 

Wilhelm von der Kammer was the "brother"of:  Gustav, Ferdinand, Hermann, Heinrich, Mimi, Ella, Dora, Lisabeth. 

Wilhelm (Willi as he was nicknamed) had a girl named Erika and a boy named Werner. Werner (born Apr 19 1923, died 1956) and his wife Edith Maria Skibba had a son named Horst (born Aug 26, 1948) and two daughters -  Ilka (born Feb 16 1955) and Edda (born in the 50's).

Wilhelm (Willi) had a sow business and dealt with Ferdinand who had a cattle broker business. Wilhelm and Frieda had a nice house and lots of silverware, their house was located by the Denkmahl Cennotap (not the correct spelling), which was where people put reefs up to remember the dead. The house was on the way to the windmill, close to where Ella and Otto lived. 

Werner (Wilhelm's son), his wife Edith and their son Horst left Rethem to live in Canada where Horst is still living today.   

I also have the ancestors list of all the eleven children of Ferdinand Dietrich von der Kammer, Born Aug 24, 1857 in Rethem and his wife (married April 14, 1880) Maria Catherina Rust, Born Feb 2, 1855 in Hauslingen. In the list it includes Wilhelm as one of their children. This makes Horst von der Kammer my 2nd cousin :)

HORST:
Horst married Nancy, born Aug 27, 1948 and they had 3 girls: 
Tracy von der Kammer, born May 31, 1973
Cheryl von der Kammer, born May 6, 1974 
Kim von der Kammer, born Mar 26, 1979  

Ilka von der Kammer married Doug Heffernan, born Apr 12, 1980 and they had 2 girls:  
Robin Heffernan, born Apr 12, 1980  
Carrie Heffernan, born Jan 17, 1985  

Edda von der Kammer married Al Winkler and they had 1 girl:  
Jillian Winkler, born Aug 22, 1978  

Werner, Edith and Horst left Rethem, Germany to live in Canada in 1952. In 1956 Werner passed away when Horst was 7-8 years old, Ilka was 1 and Edda age 2 or 3. 

Edith remarried to a Mr. Baker who had a son and daughters from a previous relationship - making Al Baker the stepbrother of Horst, Ilka and Edda.  

Edith, the mother of Horst, Ilka and Edda is still alive and lives close to where Horst lives in Ontario, Canada. So there you have it......all about Horst.
