The Messiah inThe Sabbath |
|---|
| Gen 2:2 | By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. |
|---|---|
| Lev 23:3 | There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a Sabbath to the LORD. |
| 2 Pet 3:8 | But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. |
| 1 John 3:2 | The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath. |
I firmly believe God is powerful enough to have created the Universe in an instant of time. There was no need for God to take 6 days to accomplish His task. I am convinced that there is a 'hidden' meaning behind God's activities, during this creation week.
Again, I firmly believe God did not have to 'rest' after His 6 days of creating. His power is unlimited, and there is no physical reason for Him to 'rest'. He was NOT tired as humans get tired.
I believe God took one week, to show us His plan for our salvation, allowing 6 'working days' (6 thousand years) for the rule of man, and 1 'sabbath day' (1 thousand years), for the rule of the Messiah. (The great Sabbath) or (The coming Millenium)
This plan is amplified in Leviticus 23, where the weekly Sabbath is joined by the Annual Feast days.
