DON MCLEOD

Canadian Don McLeod began his performing career versed in theatre and the art of mime. His talent for physical expression lead to his selection as the Official Mime at the 1974 World's Fair in Washington. Future roles behind make-up and creature suits would put his skills to good use. McLeod has appeared as an ape in films such as THE MAN WITH TWO BRAINS and TRADING PLACES but Don's premier outing in TANYA'S ISLAND stands apart as one of the greatest, and most disturbing, entries in simian cinema. As the singularly unique ape creature Blue, Don played opposite in a bizarre love triangle on a isolated tropical island.
Don McLeod highest profile appearance would come in his commercial work as the gorilla with luggage issue in the American Tourister advertisements
Recent years have seen Don, drift from his creature work to fully engage himself in the world of Butoh theatre.
