BOB BURNS

Bob Burns is widely recognized as a premier collector of sci-fi and genre memorabilia, Long before anyone valued the rubber masks and bubble helmets of classic B-films, Bob was rescuing props and costumes from studio garbage bins. A close friend of Paul Blaisdell (effects man for low budget Corman films such as INVASION OF THE SAUCER MEN), Bob went from assisting in the creation of monsters and make-up to the unique role of gorilla man.
As KOGAR, Bob made a variety of television and live appearances throughout the sixties and also began a friendship with fellow ape star, George Barrows. It was not until Bob softened the look of his simian features, that he created the role he is most remembered for, that of TRACY from THE ORIGINAL GHOSTBUSTERS (1975).
Although Bob essentially retired from gorilla suit work in the mid 1970's, he has continued to turn out for occasional personal appearances and roles in the films of various friends.
Bob Burns most recently popped up as a shocked New Yorker (alongside longtime spouse Kathy Burns) in Peter Jackson's KING KONG - only fitting for the gorilla man who also owns the original Kong armature.
