The function of
The GeoGenealogy
web site is to bring a broad range of geographic resources
to the desk of the genealogist and surname researcher. The website makes extensive use
of Google Earth for many of it's applications and maps.
Google
Earth is GeoGenealogy's
application of choice because:

free
- It's easy to use
- It has an
extensive global data base of places and addresses
- The contemporary
landscape can be viewed with Google's satellite imagery
- It can import and
display historic map images

Family or
Surname data can be easily imported into Google Earth.

The
GeoGenealogy web site has created a
surname mapping group. To visit follow the
link and if you think it is worthwhile to
join the group, click Ask to Join Group
at the upper right side of the surname mapping
page. You can also be added to a group by a
friend who is already a member.
Surname Origins
is a unique mapping service that will map your
surname data for England and Wales, Scotland,
Ireland and the United States.
