| Joan and I spent
three days "kicking" around the rim. |

Interesting
to note that a
few days after we arrived
home the paper had a
story about a 4 year old
who fell over the edge!
|
|
We
stayed in the Holiday
Inn at the outer edge
of the park. I also slept on
the air mattress at the
Maswik
Lodge.
|
|
We
walked several hours
along the canyon rim.
Is this
the world's most
photographed landscape?
|
|
Between
us, with two
cameras clicking, we
collected about 100
images.

The light
constantly
changes.

We
were thrilled to see
these California
condors
circling endlessly in the
air currents.

It
is one of Earth's natural
wonders. Turn around
and another view strikes
the eyes.

The final viewpoint
on the eastern border of the park is called Desert
View Watchtower.

a tower built in
the 1930s rises above the cliff. It was visible from the river. Mary

Here's a view of
the deepest part of
the Bright Angel Trail meeting the river one mile below.

|
We had
great hopes for the morning sunrise. Surprise! We weren't the
only idiots on the cliff by 6 am. |
|
This was as good as
it got! The cloud cover spoiled the morning view but we had a
great chat with Jenny Ross.
|
We took a short
walk down the Bright
Angel Trail to the first arch.
