Spring 2007 - Roadhouse Dooleys for the Drifter

Ever since I got the Drifter in the Spring of 2003, I have been looking for the  perfect exhaust system for it. Because the Drifter has a distinctive style, the exhaust system has to fit the look. It also has to, in my mind, have a certain level and quality of sound appropriate for a bike of that size.

I looked at numerous systems some of which sounded great, but looked wrong; some of which looked great and sounded wrong. Some I was warned off... In the end, it came down to a photograph from my childhood.

Note the serrated heat shields on the exhaust pipes. Only one company currently offers those for modern motorcycle enhausts - Roadhouse. They have two options - two into one and true duals. I opted for the latter.

They are definitely the look I wanted....

But... the sound? Judge for yourself.

And that was when they were new. Since then the sound has deepened and is much richer.
