First Visits

For your first visit to our office we request that you bring a few pieces of information with you:
  • A list of any medications you are currently taking will assist us with setting up your medical history.
  • The contact information of your previous dentist will allow us to request a record of your dental history.
  • If you have dental insurance, an insurance identification card as well as any literature regarding your coverage will make it possible to electronically submit your claim. If your insurance company does not accept electronic claims, we will assist you in filling out the required paper form.
Your first visit will include a review of your medical history, and a complete oral examination with oral cancer screening.  Soft tissue probing will be used to identify the presence of any gum disease and hard tissue charting will be used to detect any cavities.  Digital x-rays will be taken to further assist us in precisely diagnosing your dental health.  The dentist works with the hygienists by further examining the teeth, mouth and gums to provide any necessary treatment for tooth decay or gum disease.

This will be followed by a professional dental cleaning by one of our highly qualified hygienists.  This includes the removal of plaque and tartar deposits as well as a polish.  Regular dental visits are critical at any age for the maintenance of optimal dental hygiene.

The requirements for children will vary according to age and condition. We will only recommend treatments that are necessary for your continued dental care.
