ABOUT THE ARTIST
Al Desjarlais developed an interest for music at an early age. His first passion was rock & roll in the 60's & 70's, followed by country music in the 80's.
Through the 70's & 80's Al played with many local artists such as Len Henry, Lionel Desjarlais, James Flett & Mac Pulling. Al formed his first band "The Al Desjarlais Band" which was chosen by the Manitoba Association of Country Arts for the "Tony Sianchuk Award" band of the year in 1984. In 1986 Al formed another band called "Trapline".
He retired from the music industry, pursuing a career in hotel & restaurant management. His love for country music had not left him, and with the support & encouragement of many dear friends, Al came back to his music - releasing his first CD in 2010.
He dedicated the song "Waltz of the Wind" to his mother who inspired him to learn this song at an early age.... |
