Regular meetings are held from September to May. Following the 1.00 p.m business session and refreshments at each monthly meeting there will be a presentation by a guest artist or some other special event. Meetings are held at the Oceanside Community Arts Council Gallery, Parksville, 133 MacMillan St., Parksville on the third Thursday of each month except  in June, July and August. Please note - there is usually a bus tour scheduled in June.

Annual Art Show
As a result of the vote at the November meeting, there will be no theme for the DeCosmos July Annual Art Show at MAC 2012.

Opportunity to Exhibit on an Ongoing Basis:
Under the umbrella of OCAC, DeCosmos members are invited to hang framed paintings or photographs at Parksville Library and in the foyer at Parksville Community Centre.  Altogether there are about three dozen spaces.  The paintings and photographs are sold through OCAC who take 30% commission.  They hang for six months at a time and are changed each April and October.

Outings

JUNE 21ST., 2012 - DISCOVER GRANVILLE ISLAND ABOARD THE DECOSMOS BUS TOUR,.

The itinerary is as follows:
1.Bus arrives @ Wembley Mall @7:00. (near Remax) leaves no later than 7:15 a.m.
2. Nanoose pick-up @ approx . 7:25 a.m.,Arlington Pub kitty corner to Petrocan. Drop off @ Petrocan,approx. 7:35 p.m.
3. Nanaimo pick-up @ approx. 7:50 a.m., Nanaimo PARK & RIDE on Northfield Road, drop off at same place @ 7:10 p.m.
4. Leave Granville Island @ 4:15 p.m.
5. Return to Wembley Mall @ 7:45 p.m.

Cost per person over 65 yrs. is $35.52
Cost per person under 65 yrs, is $64.02 * passenger ferry charge is $28.50

Early table set-up in the March Meeting. Will take names and payment. No Refunds.

Members Studio Time and Pleine Aire.

The Open Studio began on Tuesday, September 13 from 12:30pm to 4:00p.m. at the McMillan Art Gallery (OCAC). The cost for the use of the room is $36 per week which is shared by the participating artists. Any members of the DeCosmos Fine Arts Society who are interested in painting or drawing with other artists are welcome to join at any time. Pleine aire sessions are scheduled in the summer. Margaret Hudson co-ordinates this group.
