Clone trooper pilots were special clone troopers bred in the Kamino cloning centers for the purpose of piloting the air vehicles of the Army of the Republic. They first appeared during the Battle of Geonosis where they flew the LAAT/i gunships and LAAT/c gunships. They also flew CR25 and CR20 troop carriers.

Equipment

These specialized troopers were normally equipped with a Drever Corp Plasma Disrupter, a DC-15 blaster, a SoroSuub F-187 Fusioncutter, and a supply dispenser containing five packs of medicine, bacta, and ammunition.

Ground pilots had armor that featured yellow markings and specialized helmets. The pilots who flew capital ships wore a special type of armor, seen in the Battle of Mon Calamari, during the Clone Wars. Over time, the uniforms evolved to become something closer to the armor of an AT-AT pilot, with a front-carry forced oxygen life support system attached to the suit.

Training

Clone trooper pilots were randomly picked from the normal clone ranks to be pilots and technicians. They could drive, fly, and pilot anything in the Republic's arsenal of vehicles.
