I've been
gardening passionately for 35 years. In the early days it was
vegetables but for the last 15 or so I've worked diligently on
moss beds and carefully pruned evergreens. Another
favourite is making moss hanging baskets.

Sixty Years of Milestones
Many
newsworthy events have touched our lives during the past 50 years.
Here I add a personal touch to many of these events.

In
1989, my friend Wayne and I published the first edition of Blisters and Bliss, a Trekker's Guide to
the West Coast Trail. It's a hobby both of us have grown
to love. Now 5 editions and 35,000 copies later, it continues to
be a best seller and "bible" for many hikers.

In 1998 I
began quizzing my 85 year old mother about her early life.
Collecting the family history soon became an ongoing obsession.
My main vehicle for cataloguing the information are these web pages.

I
began traveling extensively in my early 20s and fervently hope I never

hope to collect all my journals and highlight a few memorable
experiences.

My
life has been filled with wonderful outdoor trips. Here's a
chronolgy of my pedalling, hiking, kayaking. I can only pray that there
are many more trips to come.

I'm
one of the rare folks who was born and raised in Victoria. It's a
wonderful place to live and I'm truly thankful that my family and I
continue to enjoy it. Here's a few of my favourite haunts.

The things and trends we've collected over 50 years is boggling.
I wanted to laugh at the mistakes and rejoice over our best
decisions.

| Travels with Barbie | | We began our life with Barbie in the late summer of 2004. Are we veteran trailer folk? Not yet, but we hope to be. |
