Dance de Rock is a weekend long dance event that includes 20 workshops, two dances, a Friday night snack buffet, two lunches, a buffet dinner, showcases by the instructors and more.
Proceeds from Dance de Rock are donated to Tour de Rock, Cops for Cancer, the Canadian Cancer Society, other Cancer related charities such as the Masons Cancer Bus Fund and the Comox Valley Hope Afloat Dragon Boat Team.
Our mission is to give Island Dancers an opportunity to come together to learn, dance, have fun and raise funds for a very worthy cause. We offer world class instruction and the best dance music in the Pacific Northwest.
This years instructors include; Mario Robau, Keith & Jena Armbruster, Ian Kirkconnell and Jim Minty. They will be teaching a variety of dance styles including; West Coast Swing, Cha Cha, Night Club 2-Step, Hustle, Waltz and Country Two-Step. Privates are available with these instructors during the weekend.
Where would we be with out the music! Tom Selzler will be the DJ for the weekend. As an experienced competitive dancer, instructor and event director and DJ, Tom will provide an excellent mix of music to keep the floor moving all night long.
Dance de Rock has enjoyed a huge success over the past seven years, raising over $85,000.00 to date for it's chosen charities. This year’s event is shaping up to be yet another great year of dancing and fund raising.
This weekend would not be possible without the dedication of our volunteers, generosity of our sponsors and you the dancer. Our hard working groups of volunteers consist of; the Comox Valley Hope Afloat Dragon Boat Team, The Cumberland Masons, The Black Creek Lions Club as well as Individual Volunteers.
