Rules & Regulations

Rules Committee

Any disputes will be resolved by the rules committe.
Rules committe members for the following year are chosen at the end of each Stanley Cup tournament by the members of the current rules committe.

Eligibility

Pool entrants must either be eligible entrants or associated entrants. Any person related by blood to an existing eligible entrant is an eligibile entrant. Each eligible entrant can sponsor one associate entrant. All decisions on eligibilty will be made by the Rules Committee.

Entries

If two entries are identical then they both must be changed and resubmitted. All entries must be received before the drop of the puck in the first game of the round. Any discrepancies between the tabulated sheet & your entry must be pointed out before the drop of the puck in the first game of the round.

Determining The Winner

First And Second Rounds

The winner for the conference quarter final & semifinal rounds is decided by applying each of the following criteria in turn until there is a clear winner. If after all criteria have been applied there is still a tie then all those who are still tied are winners. The winner of the round will be whoever:

chose the most series winners,
had the most correct predictions of games won by all teams,
has the lowest score generated by the following algorithm:
For each team in the round: Let pg be the number of games that the entrant predicted would be won by that team Let ag be the actual number of games that the team won. Let delta = | pg - ag |.
An entrant's score is the sum of the deltas from each team in the round.

Third Round

If there is a still a tie after applying the above criteria then the winner is whoever has:

chosen the most correct game winners

Stanley Cup Final

If there is a still a tie after applying the above four criteria then the winner is whoever has:

predicted the most correct number of team goals in each game

Prizes

Dairy Queen sundae for the winner of each round.
Trip to Hawaii in 2007 for the winner and his/her family if he/she chooses all the winners correctly in all the rounds in the correct number of games
