DOPI/ROPI
Defense after opponents bid on 4NT (ace-asking). DOPI
If your opponents bid a suit over 4NT:
- Double: 0 or 4 aces
- Pass : 1 ace
- 1 step : 2 aces
- 2 step : 3 aces (Those of you who use Key-Card bidders can change the steps so they fit their usually answers.)
D0P1--Roman ("Roman D0P1"): When a Roman Blackwood bid of 4NT is overcalled by next hand, calls by the partner of the 4NT bidder have the following meanings:
- Double Zero or three aces ( or 1 or 4 )
- Pass One or four aces ( or 0 or 3 )
- Cheapest suit Two aces without the king or queen of trumps
- Second Cheapest suit Two aces with king or queen of trumps
ROPI Is used when your opponents double 4NT (what that is good for?)
- Redouble: 0 or 4 aces
- Pass : 1 ace
- 1 step : 2 aces 2 step :
