For the past few years, members of the Calgary International Airport Pipe Band
have volunteered with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets to teach cadet pipers and
drummers. In 2005, a proposal was put forward and implemented to amalgamate
several squadrons and the Calgary Highlanders together in one massed band. On
March 11, 2006, the Calgary International Airport terminal was the venue for the
first public performance of the Calgary and Area Cadets Massed Pipes and Drums.
