With our destination Barkley Sound, we travel by fishing boat viewing the beautiful Alberni Inlet. We leave Port Alberni marina (Clutesi Marina) and arrive in Barkley Sound in about one hour (20 miles). Barkley Sound on Vancouver Island's west coast is one of British columbia's best salmon/halibut fishing locations. The waters are mostly calm as they are protected by groups of island such as the Broken Group and the Deer Group. In addition to catching large numbers of Chinook and Coho, the scenery of Vancouver island's west coast is breathtaking.
