Getting Involved
Home
Would you like to get involved with this
exciting project? There are many ways that you can:
- Worker at
the site. We have many volunteers working at the
site, but there is always room for more. We need
people who are handy with their hands, can paint, dig the
garden, and generally help as required. For most
tasks, no skill is required, except for a smile and a
willingness to help.
- Fund
Raising. We need people who can assist with fund
raising. This requires innovative ideas, preparing
letters and documents and possibly speaking with the
potential donors.
- General
running of the Bearspaw Historic Society. We have a
dedicated team who is willing and able to see this
project to the end, but we can always use additional
help, and a change over of positions. Some new
blood would be very beneficial to the society.
- Preparing
for the school visits. We will need someone to open
the school as required for teachers, clean up (initially,
hopefully we can hire someone once we have the cash
flow), collect money, etc.
- Docents.
We will require people who can prepare material for
classroom teachers on topics of local historic interest,
to come to the school and make presentations on various
topics of local interest, guide the students through an
old fashion class typical of a one room
school (all grades being taught at the same time), and
assist in making the area around the school of interest
to the students (bird feeders, paths with descriptions
about the trees, shrubs, and natural grasses, etc.
