| I
made this figure after watching episode 8 ,"the last patrol". It
has been some time since I made U.S. webbing and
baggage. It was a good exercise. The stock items are as
follows: Helmet (DID,new helmet strap),M1 Garand (Dragon,
repainted and new sling), helmet liner, pistol, boots ,bendy gloved
hands and canteen(Dragon). The body is a Dragon neo body with
shoulders and chest reduced and legs shortened. The rest of what
you see is custom made. The uniform is from the same batch I made
for Luz, Randleman and Perconte. The patch pocket on the
trousers seems low. This is because they should be pulled up
further on the figure. During the photo-shoot I did not notice
his trousers have fallen! |

| The
duffle bag ,musette bag and the entrenching tool and cover were
fun to make. Some things in this hobby requires moderate effort
but gives satisfying results. The lettering on these items were
done with rubber stamps. Once again, I use eyelets to represent the rivets in the entrenching tool cover. The holes in the eyelets were filled in with 2 part epoxy coloured with brass metallic powder. |

Another
custom piece that involved some learning, is the leather holster for the
pistol. It is made from real leather. The technical problem
that I had to solve was how to emboss the leather. After a series
of making a mold out of a mold, I was able to transfer the
"U.S." embossing from a bbi plastic holster and convert it into
hard resin. After wetting the leather and using this hard resin
replica, I was able to emboss "U.S." onto the leather that I was using
to make the holster. My other option was to make a rubber stamp and go
through the same process. The final photograph is a close-up of Webster. I still need to work on my photography as it is slightly out of focus.
