For
those who have followed my work through the years know that I
very seldom use heads that I did not sculpture myself. I feel,
this way, I have better control of the final appearance of the figure
that I am constucting. I am better able to control the scale.
Surprisingly, even though officially this is a 1/6th scale hobby, there
is a great variation in head sizes that are
commercially available. There is also a great variation in the
style of sculpture. I find that if I was to create a scene
with various artist's sculptures, there becomes an
inconsistency in the characters. My ability to
sculpture is a result of necessity and took many years of trial
and error to arrive at where I am now. I can say that this is
true for every ability I have in this wonderful hobby.
The head sculptures that one sees in my "Battlefields" website are
available for sale . This is valid only if I still have a
functional mold.
I do wish to state that I am not really running a business and
availability of anything from me is dependent on the time I have
at hand. My objective of selling my work is only to off-set
the significant cost of this hobby. I have a
regular career that is far more lucrative. I practive this
hobby out of passion and love and would like to keep it that way.
The cost of each unpainted head sculpture is $18 U.S. plus
shipping. Of course the shipping cost is
what Canada Post charges to get the package to it's
destination. There is no hidden handling fee.
The head sculptures are cast into flesh tone semi-flexible
resin. Far as I know ,my head sculptures are the only ones
that are available in semiflexible flesh tone colour. The most
common resin used is the off-white hard urethane resin.
As I mention in various pages on "Battlefields", I do not paint a base
flesh tone coat on my head sculptures. It kind of defeats the purpose
of getting a flesh tone resin for the casting. I use
a dry brush technique with acrylic paint to give the various tonal
shades of the face.
The head scultpures available are as follows: Please e-mail
me regarding availability.

The BOB heads are available at least until the molds wear out. I have made sculptures of most of the characters in the series.
