All the way from Tatalayoko Lake in the Chilcotin….Darren and Sam!
From their previous shop ‘Mason Forge’ located in the Paradise Valley, Darren and his wife Samantha created for a large clientele mainly consisting of Whistler Architecture. From their new and larger facility ‘Mountain Shadow Metals’ in the Tatlayoko Lake Valley, they continue to specialize in hand-forged iron, steel and non-ferrous metal for residential and commercial applications. Darren constantly experiments with shapes and the plasticity of iron, developing his unique style often reflecting his beautiful surroundings. Their creative approach and technique add fresh possibilities to the all too common mass produced manufactured items. Whether it is a simple bracket or an ornate enormous sculpture doubling as a staircase, their artistic style is implemented through impeccable design and execution.
Darren and Samantha have given dozens of traditional blacksmithing demonstrations at fall fairs, schools, loggers sports shows, as well as workshops for the BCIT Woman In Trades Program.
