Elfy Goodness

Elfy Goodness

We are selling these lovely decorative elves to raise funds for the Down Syndrome Research Foundation to aid the work they do which is described below. The complete proceeds from the sale of the elves will go directly to the foundation. The elves are purely decorative – they are not toys to be played with.

The Down Syndrome Research Foundation was established in 1995 to ensure a brighter future for individuals with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities by increasing their cognitive and social development. Our goals are to provide relevant, reliable and timely information on the latest research and educational programs for people of all ages with Down syndrome. Our mission is to empower people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities to achieve their potential, lead independent lives and to successfully participate in the communities in which they live. This is achieved through pioneering research and innovative programs.

The Foundation is unique in that we bring together in a family friendly environment researchers, scientists, clinicians and families. Under one roof, these groups discuss new advances in neuroscience, brain development, education and health. They work together to create improved methods and instructional techniques for assisting people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities and their families.

Down syndrome is a genetic condition that occurs in approximately one in every 600 babies born in British Columbia. Children with Down syndrome are more similar to other children than they are different. They have dreams and ambitions, abilities and strengths, just like other children. With your help we can create a brighter future for children and adults with Down syndrome and their families.
