These pictures above indicate the color and what it looked like
prior to the start of the conversion. During the winter (1997) the windows
were removed, and RV windows installed. The remainder was covered
with a pre painted aluminium skin.
This is the view from both sides after the skin and the windows
were installed. The bus windows were removed, framing installed, and the
skin is a solid piece of aluminium that is riveted at the front, glued to
the frame, and stretched. We built a jig, tied it to the skin, and tightened
every thing up. We applied lateral pressure to the sides, and let nature
take its course. (Summer 1997)
After a winter in the cozy warmth of the shop, and several months
of doing "this and that" the Odyssey was released from her confines and
is set for another summer of adventures. The rear cap was installed and
a backup camera mounted. (Spring 1998)
A week in Ames IA with temperatures
near or at 100 degrees during the FMCA Rally convinced us that awnings
were in order. All windows have awnings. Considering the temperatures,
the air conditioners kept the inside temperature cool. The white
paints reflective ability proved its worth. (Summer 1999)
The end result!!
