The coach was manufactured in 1969
at Motor Coach Industries in Winnipeg
Mb., and is powered by a Detroit
Diesel 8V71 series equipped with a Jake brake, coupled to a 4 speed Spicer
transmission. She rides on 315 - 80 R 22.5 inch radial tires. She was purchased
by McKenzie Bus Lines in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia and spent the rest of
her working career transporting passengers around the Maritimes and New
England states. She was in service until I purchased her in May 1996. She
has seen her share of the famous and (likely) the in-famous. She was regularly
chartered by the group known as "Don Messer and his Islanders", who were
a musical icon on CBC radio and Television in the 1960's and 1970's. The group was
carried across Canada by this unit while they were on tour. She was also
a bit player in a movie, "The Cadillac Girls", which was shot in the Lunneburg
area of Nova Scotia, and was the coach used in the bus depot scene.
