Using this site: This site is intended to be used by older intermediate students, parents and teachers. Begin by printing out a portfolio (below) and choosing your project. Write the challenge or problem in the portfolio and start with an initial sketch or drawing. Use the research link in the lesson plan to find background information (for example, if you were making catapults use the 'Catapult Link'.) Once you have an initial design (the heart of applied technology) begin making the project (the soul of applied technology). Another important stage or step is to re-engineer the project and 'fine-tune' it.
| The Design Portfolio: The design portfolio can be given to each group of students. Each link here is 1 page in the Design Portfolio. The portfolio has a title page, a design process flowchart, a research page and initial design, the problem and design, redesigning page (suggestions and drawings), and what I've learned which includes 'how will I recycle this project?'. |
