Stretching is very important before performing strenuous activities such as Kung Fu, injury to muscles, tendons, etc is common among those who do not warm up properly. Stretching will also add that extra "snap" to your kick, flexibility is an essential part of developing great speed, and power in your punches and kicks.
Here is a collection of basic stretching and limbering excercises, some of these stretches are from Yoga, classical Gung Fu, modern dance, gymnastics, ballet, and jazz dancing.
